What is Melanotan II (MT2)？

Melanotan II (MT-II) is a synthetically produced variant of the peptide hormone alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), a natural regulator of melanogenesis – the process responsible for skin pigmentation. Acting through melanocortin receptors, Melanotan II not only Stimulates melanin production but also demonstrates effects on metabolism lipid, hunger suppression, and libido enhancement. Originally developed for treating skin conditions, Melanotan II gained popularity for its cosmetic benefits, inducing a tan without UV exposure.
